Triumph X-1 8,000 lb Four Post Storage and Service Lift
What the X-1 is built for
The X-1 is a four post lift rated at 8,000 lbs, sold for both vehicle storage and general service work. It uses a time tested design that has been in production for over 20 years. Raising the runways gives 72" of lift height, with 69" of clearance under the runway — enough room to park a second vehicle underneath, or to stand and work beneath the car. Automatic locks engage at 10 different positions as the vehicle goes up, and a single point lock release handles all four corners together. Full travel takes 40 seconds. Lowered height is 5". Three drip trays are included so fluid from the upper vehicle does not land on the one parked below.
Footprint and clearances to check first
Measure the bay before the lift arrives. The overall footprint is 175" long by 106" wide, and the lift stands 84" tall at overall height. Each runway is 165" long and 18" wide, with 93" of drive thru width between the columns — that is the number to check against your widest vehicle and against the door opening you will drive through. Base plates are 12"x12". For two-car storage, compare the roof height of the lower vehicle against the 69" height under runway, then add the height of the upper vehicle to the 72" lift height to work out the ceiling you need. Lowered height is 5", so the runways sit low when the lift is parked down.
Delivery and assembly without a forklift
This is one of the practical reasons buyers choose the X-1. The lift is packaged in 2 pieces, with a shipping weight of 1,600 lbs, and it is designed to come off the truck with lift gate service — no forklift or heavy machinery required at your location. The runways and crossrails are reinforced so the structure stays strong even though it is assembled from multiple pieces. Two people can unpackage and assemble it without machinery. Shipping is free to the lower 48 United States. If you are a mobile mechanic or a home garage owner with no loading dock and no equipment on site, this matters more than any single spec on the chart.
What comes with the lift
The lift ships with a caster kit, a jack tray and three drip trays. The caster kit lets you roll the assembled lift around the garage, which is what makes this a portable lift rather than a fixed installation — useful if the bay does double duty or if you rent the space. The jack tray sits on the lift and accepts a bottle jack or floor jack, so you can raise one end of the vehicle to pull a wheel while the car is already up. The three drip trays sit under the upper vehicle and catch fluid before it reaches whatever is stored underneath, which is the difference between a storage lift you can leave loaded and one you cannot.
