What the NTO-20S is built to lift

The NTO-20S is rated at 20,000 lbs, which puts it in a different class from the 9,000- and 10,000-lb lifts most general-repair bays run. That rating is what makes it practical for heavy-duty trucks, vans and dually pickups that push past the limits of a standard two-post lift. Maximum lifting height is 74", enough for a technician to work standing under most vehicles, and lowered height is 6" for driving on. Direct-drive cylinders do the lifting, and a full lift takes about 40 seconds. The 20,000 lb rating is the capacity of the lift across both arms, so plan around the total weight of the vehicle rather than a per-arm figure.

Overhead design and drive-thru clearance

This is an overhead-style lift: the crossbar and the safety shut-off sit at the top of the columns instead of in a floor plate, so the drive-through path between the posts stays completely clear. Nothing on the floor catches a low air dam, a floor jack or a rolling toolbox on the way in. The posts stand 124" apart, with a drive-thru width of 113" — that is the number to check against the widest truck or van you service. Overall width is 155", and each column sits on a 21" x 20" base plate. Measure the full 155" footprint against your bay, including room to open doors on a vehicle sitting between the posts.

Ceiling, concrete and power requirements

Two measurements decide whether this lift fits your building. Overall height is 170.5" — roughly 14.2 feet — so the ceiling has to clear the columns and overhead crossbar with working room above a vehicle raised to the 74" lifting height. The floor matters just as much: the lift anchors directly to the slab and requires 6" of concrete rated at a minimum of 4,000 PSI. Verify slab thickness and strength before installation, not after the lift arrives. On the electrical side, the power unit runs on 220V and drives a 3 HP motor, so a 220V supply needs to be available at the installation location before the lift goes up.

Safety systems, included hardware and warranty

A single-point lock release drops both columns' safety locks together, so one control resets the lift instead of two separate releases. An electrical override with automatic safety shut-off stops travel at the top of the stroke. The lift is ISO 9001 manufactured and CE certified. Mounting and anchor hardware and truck adapters are included with every lift, along with an installation instruction manual. Warranty coverage is one year on parts — parts only, no labor. The hydraulic cylinders carry a 30-day full warranty, after which Triumph supplies a seal kit. Rubber lifting pads are not covered under the parts warranty.
