Floor-plate design and ceiling clearance
The two columns connect at the floor with a low-profile drive-over plate instead of an overhead crossbar. That matters in bays with limited headroom: there is no bar above the columns eating into ceiling clearance, which is why floor-plate lifts get specified in shops with under nine feet of headroom where an overhead-bar lift would not fit.
