Storage and service in one four-post lift
The NSS-8XLT is an 8,000-lb four-post lift built to do two jobs: everyday service work and long-term vehicle storage. Drive a car up the ramps, raise it in about 40 seconds, and either work underneath at the 82-inch lift height or park a second vehicle below to reclaim a full bay. Ten lock positions engage automatically as the runways rise, and a single-point lock release drops them together, so the load rests on mechanical locks rather than on hydraulics while you work or while the car sits parked overhead. Triumph has shipped this same four-post design for more than 20 years. The standard color is grey.
Fit, clearance and loading
The lift is 112 inches wide overall and stands 94 inches tall on its own, which is the number to check against your ceiling before you account for stacked vehicles. Drive-thru width is 99 inches, and the two 18-inch runways sit 37 inches apart over a 180-inch runway length, so full-size trucks and long-wheelbase vehicles have room to load squarely. Lowered height is 5 inches, so low cars clear the approach ramps without scraping. At full height there is 79 inches of clearance under the runways. For stacked storage, measure both vehicles: the ceiling has to clear the lower car, the raised runways, and whatever is parked on top.
Power, fluid and jacking
Power comes from a 110-volt hydraulic power unit that plugs into standard household current on a dedicated 30-amp circuit — no 220V and no three-phase service required. Do not run the lift from a generator; power surges can damage the motor. The unit mounts to a column at the drive-in end and includes a manual lowering lever, a steel oil tank, and a UL-listed plug. Plan on roughly 3 gallons of AW32 hydraulic oil to fill it during setup; the fluid is a separate purchase you should have on hand before assembly day. The center jack tray holds a bottle or floor jack for wheels-free work, and the Triumph SJ-35 rolling bridge jack is a compatible add-on.
What ships, and what it will not do
The NSS-8XLT arrives as a complete four-post kit: four columns on 12-inch by 12-inch base plates, two diamond-plate runways, two cross rails, the 110V power unit and hose, four caster dollies, a steel jack tray, three plastic drip trays, two aluminum drive-on ramps, plus runway stops, lock release rods, cables, and hardware. The caster kit lets you roll the lift to a different spot in the garage when it is empty — it is not rated to move a loaded lift, so never reposition it with a vehicle on the runways. The lift ships LTL freight at about 1,800 lbs crated, and you are responsible for having equipment on site to take it off the truck.
